Stavros Ioannou was born on the island of Evia, in 1954. He started out by studying civil engineering and continued on in Athens to follow film direction. So far, he has made over a hundred shorts and features, but mainly documentary films. His work has been widely acclaimed both in Greece and abroad. Roadblocks is his first adventure into fiction.
