Syllas Tzoumerkas was born in Greece in 1978. He studied theatre, film directing and acting in Athens, Utrecht and New York. He has directed short films including THE DEVOURING EYES (Cinéfondation, 2001 Cannes Film Festival; Jury Prize, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival), TV documentaries and the feature films Homeland (2010) (International Critics’ Week, 2010 Venice Film Festival) and A Blast (2014) (International Competition, 2014 Locarno International Film Festival).
