Metin Çekmez was born on July 26, 1945 in Istanbul, Turkey. After studying journalism, he started playing in theaters in 1962. Çekmez joined the Istanbul City Theatre in 1970. Since then he has performed in numerous plays, films as well as TV series. He is an actor, known for 1001 Nok (2006), Adini Feriha Koydum (2011) and The Shadow Play (1992).
