Merve Kayan was born in 1981, grew up in Uzunkopru, Turkey. She spent seven years in a boarding school in Istanbul and then moved to Granville, Ohio in the United States to study Cinema. She has been making short films and videos since 1999. Having spent the last few years as a freelance video editor in New York. Merve Kayan is a director and scriptwriter, known for The Blue Wave (2013).
