Mirjana Karanovic was born on January 28, 1957 in Belgrade, Serbia, Yugoslavia. She is an actress and director, known for many important roles in former Yugoslav films. She made her screen debut in 1980 film PETRIA’S WREATH by Srdjan Karanovic. World fame came with the role of the mother in Emir Kusturica’s WHEN FATHER WAS AWAY ON BUSINESS. She has worked with many prominent Yugoslav and Serbian directors. "A Good Wife" is Mirjana’s directing debut.
