Biography

Demir Karahan was born in Adana in 1944. After finishing at Austria High School, he studied at the Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul University but discontinued and made his career as an actor. He then went to France and acted in 4 French-Turkish co-produced films. Karahan also worked as an assistant director. After working in different sectors, Karahan decided to return to the film world and performed in a TV series after being offered the role by film director Osman Sınav during the Turkish Films Week in Strasbourg. Karahan then acted in many films and TV series. Besides being an actor, he wrote the scenario of the film "Çark" (1971) and directed it. He graduated from the School of Business at Anadolu University. In 2013, Karahan received the Lifetime Achievement Award in the 20th Altın Koza Film Festival.
