Anri Kulev was born on July 21, 1949 in Shumen, Bulgaria. Graduated from VGIK (State Institute of Cinematoigraphy)in Moscow in 1975, with a degree in Animation Graphics. In 1974 - 1993 worked at the Boyana Film [bg] (Animation Studio) as a director and animator. He has made over 50 animation films. 'Hypothesis' won the principal awards in Ottawa; Varna, Bulgaria. 'Cavalcade' won the prizes in Krakow, Poland; Tolbuhin, Bulgaria; Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Was a member of the international jury at Annecy, 1987. Since 1991 he has started his own production company Kulev Film Production.
