Biography

Mahinur Ergun was born in Bursa in 1956. She graduated from the Department of Cinema and Television at the School of Press in Ankara in 1978. She then started shooting advertising films. Ergun shot the video film “Yabancı Bir Sevgi” (1987) and her first film “Gece Dansı Tutsakları” (1988). In addition to films, she has shot many drama series including “Çatısız Kadınlar,” “Şaşıfelek Çıkmazı,” and “Nasıl Evde Kaldım.” In 1990, she received the “Best Director" Award and the “Best Script" Award for the film “Medcezir Manzaraları” in the Third Ankara Film Festival. Ergun has written many scenarios for TV drama series such as “Asmalı Konak” and “Haziran Gecesi.” In 2007, she served as a jury member in the 44th Antalya Altın Portakal Film Festival
