The 13th edition of the Creative Documentary Film Festival "MakeDox" was opened on 18 August 2022 in Kursumli-an under the motto "Peeling ideas".
At the opening of the festival, Sara Ferro and Pavle Ignovski from the "MakeDox" team addressed the audience in Kurshumli-an.
Ferro reminded that the motto will consistently guide the audience throughout the entire festival program, while Ignovski pointed out that the opening of the festival is dedicated to a comrade from the festival team - Ljubisa Ivanovski - Lepi, who died too soon.
The film program was opened with the Belgian short documentary "The Future is a Water Palace" by director Juanita Onzaga, who after the screening gave additional explanations about her watery and surreal film adventure. She also reminded that her film is shown for the second time at "MakeDox".
The main program featured the documentary film "Everything that Breathes" by director Shaunak Sen, a film which is an Indian-British co-production. The evening was closed with a concert by the group "Baklava".
Tonight, as the organizers announced, the Country in Focus program begins, which this year brings eight new documentaries from the Czech Republic. The program will be opened in Kursumli-an with the film "Rene - Prisoner of Freedom" by the guest of honor Helena Tsheshtikova, the mother of the "time-lapse documentary", who will be present at the screening. A masterclass with Tsheshtikova is planned for tomorrow at Europe House-Skopje on how she develops her ideas and how she brings them to a complete film work.
The second stage on the plateau in front of the Museum of the Republic of North Macedonia will also be put into operation tonight, with screenings of four short and four feature films with parallel dates in the program.
