Synopsis:

Mateo and Ginel are two friends who grew up in an orphanage in Jiu Valley, one of the poorest regions in the European Union. Their dream is to go to America, but they have to do something to raise the money for doing that. " Something Good Out of Life" is the story of friendship, love and dreams that seem dangerously frail in this cold and rough place, but, alas, hope prevails as the characters try to find their place amidst the chaos of early 90's Romania. Although far from a preferred option, Mateo and Ginel take up jobs as miners as the first step towards their great escape. The dark corridors that great them at first will lead them to a rollercoaster ride of surprises, decissions and actions as they try to make their wayout from a life and place as claustrophobic as the mines themselves, finding and losing ideals, money and love in the process.
