On October 2, 1991, the Disaster Relief Headquarters of the District of Slavonska Pozega reached a decision to evacuate the residents of 26 Serbian villages under its jurisdiction. The Headquarters made the period during which these people should remain away from their homes dependent "upon the settling down of circumstances in the district itself." For the evacuees themselves, the 2 October 1991 became the day when they saw their homes for the last time.
