For a consecutive year, Bulgaria marked its presence on the market in Cannes (Marché du Film) with a Bulgarian party at the National Film Center stand.
At the invitation of Jana Karaivanova, representatives of Eurimages, Arte, the European Audiovisual Observatory, European Film Promotion, film funds, film commissions and cinema magazines were present at the party.
The Film Center team made special emphasis on the presence of the team and producers of the Bulgarian minority co-production "The Wild Pear Tree" by Nuri Bilge Ceylan. Macedonia and Bulgaria together with Bosnia and Herzegovina are celebrating their cooperation in Cannes as all three countries are coproducers of the Cannes competition film (Turkey, Germany, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Sweden, Qatar). The film was supported by the Bulgarian National Film Centre, the Macedonian Film Agency and the Sarajevo Film Fund.
