Those of you who have had the pleasure or dis-pleasure of seeing director Srdjan Spasojevic’s notorious, blackly comic and wholly transgressive psychodrama A Serbian Film, know just how monumentally horrifying, unsavory and unforgettable a motion picture it is. But as hideous and grueling an experience as the movie is, A Serbian Film is also wildly stylish, an arthouse glimpse into Eastern European Hell that is almost peerless.
With that reflection, exciting news coming from the world of American shockmeister Stephen Biro via his Unearthed Films imprint. Spasojevic, along with his original co-writer of "A Serbian Film", Aleksandar Radivojevic, are beginning pre-production on a new film called "Whereout". Contra Film and Unearthed Films are co-producing. Spasojevic will be directing this bizarre, bloody neo-western.
"Whereout" is a supernatural bare-knuckle oater about a man determined to face mighty powers to protect the woman he loves. Driven onward by the sheer power of his own will, he fights through unknown worlds to defend the small remaining tract of their Utopian paradise. As the unrelenting battle unfolds, so strong is his purpose and so ferocious his resistance that the Universe itself will tremble.
